Dawn Marie Tipton,  I was born and raised in Michigan.  Growing up I spent a great amount of time at our family lake house and acquired a passion for the water. Some of my fondest memories were getting up early to walk down to the calm, peaceful lake and see the sun glisten off the water.  I lived in Michigan until I graduated high school.  I now reside near the Great Smokey Mountains.  I'm a self taught artist. I don't hold a degree in art, but I love what I do.  To me, it's easy for I just follow my heart and do what comes natural.  I've been paintings since I was a little girl. My mother recalls me standing in front of an easel painting as young as 5.  I have a great passion to paint.  It's almost like an internal healing process for me.  It calms my life and has made me who I am.  I prefer painting contemporary art the most. I believe it's the process of "color and design" I love so much.  I enjoy blending contrasting colors, most of my work is done with bold, vivid colors.

I have several differnt painting techniques, all in which are by trial and error.  Most of my paintings appear without a story but there's usually hidded meanings in them.  Not always easily seen, occasionally I inlay devotional verses and prayers.

My feeling on art "Art is an expression of who we are and how we perceive the world." Everyone sees something different. I believe this is what makes us different in our own way.  " A mirror of my own voice who speaks to me- "ART"
